Union Budget 2023-2024 Analysis: Presentation by KMS 2022-24 Batch

The Indian Union Budget for 2023-2024 was presented by Honourable Finance Minister of India ‘Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman’ on 1st February, 2023. KMS organised a live view for the students on its campus. An analysis of the budget was presented by students as part of “Budget 2023-24 Competition” on 4th February, 2023.
All the 1st year PGDM students participated as a part of 8 groups with one sector alloted to each group as follows,

  • Automobile
  • Road transport and Highways
  • Textile
  • Agriculture
  • Banking
  • Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare
  • Steel and Cement
The purpose of this presentation was to understand the nuances of the budget and to understand the pulse of the industry and economy associated with those sectors. A panel of judges were present to infer the analysis accorded by the groups on each sector. The panel comprised of our alumni and industry practitioners,
Mr Jigar Bhanushali– Relationship Manager at UTI Mutual Fund (Alumni 2014-2016)
Mr Rahul Ingle– Financial Consultant
Mr Umesh Sahu– Deputy Manager at NSE Indexes (Alumni 2017-2019)
Pradeep Gupte– Entrepreneur and Visiting Faculty
The impact of the Budget on the above-mentioned sectors were explored and the groups gave some interesting insights that helped everyone recapitulate the entire Union Budget. After each presentation, the panel of judges gave feedback and fundamental information about each sector.
