A Fun-Filled yet Meaningful Conclusion to the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations

Students, faculty and staff participated in a fun yet meaningful exercise, on 18th August, 2022, to mark the conclusion of the diverse activities that were organised by KET, to commemorate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. A fun-filled skit competition was held on the campus, on different topics related to India and its progress. Each group comprised 15 members, drawn from the students, faculty and staff of KET. The groups were given topics on the spot and were given 15 minutes of preparation time, to put up a performance. The teams were judged on the basis of their interpretation of the theme, creativity, group dynamics and the overall impact of their performance. Dr Svetlana Tatuskar Director, KBS, Dr Joyee Chatterjee, Faculty KBS and Mr. Sudhir Ghorpade, Assistant Registrar, KBS judged the competition. With topics ranging from more abstract ones like ‘Mother India’, to more concrete ones like ‘Make in India’, the participants put on their thinking caps, to outperform each other, by putting up unique and innovative interpretations of the topics they had chosen from a variety of available topics. The faculty members, who are usually involved in engaging with their students, in the classroom, joined forces with them and put up award winning performances. Interestingly, members from the Maintenance department, who are usually working relentlessly and quietly for the upkeep of the infrastructure, so that the right ambience for education is created on the campus, also joined the students and became vocal about their views, by expressing themselves creatively. In a true confluence of innovation, learning and creativity, the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations, based on the theme Naye Bharat ki Buland Tasveer, came to a close though this fun event – an apt conclusion to the grand 75th Year Independence Day Celebrations!
